“Becoming a mother makes you the mother of all children. From now on each wounded, abandoned, frightened child is yours. You live in the suffering mothers of every race and creed and weep with them. You long to comfort all who are desolate.” – Charlotte Gray
Mamas for Mamas is a group of mothers coming together to take a powerful stand with, and for other mothers to help create Little Ripples, a new and innovative early education program in Darfuri refugee camps. Approximately 7,300 children age 2-6 are exposed to severe trauma and are without proper care in Eastern Chad. This can be a matter of life or death in a refugee camp, where safety and resources are scarce. Mothers are forced to leave their young children unattended during the day while they must search for resources to sustain the family.
Throughout history women and children have often found themselves in circumstances beyond their control yet despite this there is no more powerful force in the world then a mother. Throughout time and beyond both borders and circumstances mothers have risked their lives in the pursuit of protection and nurturance of their children. In this global age and with our villages ever widening, today’s mothers have a unique opportunity to come together in this endeavor to preserve our children’s dignity, ensure their safety and provide their education.
Become a Mama Ambassador. Something profound happens when we simply say, “Yes.” When we become Mama Ambassadors we are saying yes to creating a world that works for all children and to leaving our children a world where all mothers stand together for their future. Simply say, “Yes” by signing up as a Mama Ambassador and a Little Ripples team member will contact you. We understand the demands of motherhood and have created time efficient ways to make a difference. Please also share any innovative visions you may have for Mamas for Mamas.
