The Little Ripples curriculum was designed with input from early childhood education, preschool, and trauma experts. The curriculum is meant to serve as a foundation, leaving space for the specific activities and lessons to be completed by the implementing teachers based on their experiences, culture, and traditions. The curriculum and teacher training is built upon the following modules, which are then filled with each teachers’ ideas for activities, songs, lessons and play.
Pillars
Growing up amid the chronic stresses of displacement and poverty can result in lowered expectations about the future. Developing hope through the three pillars of peace, helping, and sharing is one area in which Little Ripples teachers can make change every day in the life of a child. These pillars guide the daily activities and atmosphere of Little Ripples and can be adapted across cultures and contexts.
